  14. 1       SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  16. This product will work on most computers running Windows or Windows 95.
  17.  
  18. 2       INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  19.  
  20. Double-click on "INSTALL" in the root directory of the CD and follow
  21. the on-screen prompts. Necessary files are copied to your hard drive. Note
  22. that some may already be present, and protected, on your hard drive. If
  23. a message warning you of this appears, click on IGNORE.
  24.  
  25. On very rare occasions the install may fail. In this case simply click on the
  26. appropriate "MSETUP" program for your system. The Windows 3.x version is
  27. in the directory "INST3X" and the Windows 95 version is in the "INST95"
  28. directory. You'll find both the Inst directories in the "SYSDIR" directory.

  30. Occasionally, a conflict with a non-standard video card may prevent the
  31. Installation from working. To cure this, simply click on the right-hand
  32. mouse button while the pointer is on the desktop. Select "properties" and
  33. then change the display type to "standard super VGA" from the "settings"
  34. menu. Once installed, you can restore the old settings.

  36. Run the program by clicking on the icon in the usual way.

  39. 3       INSTALLING MORE TITLES
  40.  
  41. When installing additional titles the install program will detect that
  42. Know Your Stuff is already installed and will just copy files specific
  43. to the new title(s).
  44.  
  45. 4        UNINSTALLING KNOW YOUR STUFF (Windows 95)
  46.  
  47. Because user files and other data are saved in the installation directory
  48. by Know Your Stuff after installation, the uninstaller is unable to remove
  49. these. If you want to remove these files just delete the installation
  50. directory (default name: PROGRAM FILES\KYS).

  53. 5        TAKING A BREAK IN A TEST
  54.  
  55. You may take as many breaks as you like during a test. To continue a test,
  56. simply "Take Test" again. The program will detect that you are part way 
  57. through a test and resume from the point where you left off.

  60. 6       AVI FILES
  61.  
  62. Windows 95 has a built-in Avi player for the moving images. If you have have Windows 3.1 you will need a player - they are free on most cover disks, bulletin boards, the Internet etc.

  64. If you do not have an AVI player, you will be told and the program will work normally in all other respects.

  66. If AVIs play slowly, they can be speeded up by copying them to your hard disk - a button in the program allows you to do this automatically. They require about 40Mb and a button allows their automatic removal.

  68. If you do not want animation, AVIs can be turned off from the customisation menu.
